Flutter API integration

Connected data.
Considered UX.

Make your backend feel like a coherent mobile product. I build Flutter API integrations with clear sign-in, loading and recovery flows.

Connect your product

The endpoint is only the beginning.

A successful response is one part of a mobile integration. Your customers also need to know what happens when a session expires, a request takes too long or a connection disappears after they tap submit. Those moments belong in the specification, not in a list of surprises after launch.

I connect Flutter interfaces to REST APIs and help your backend team define the contract between the app and the service. The work covers the agreed data models, authentication behaviour and screen states, with a testable path from the request to the customer’s next action.

A good fitFor teams with an API ready to connect, products with unreliable data flows, or business tools moving from a web workflow to mobile.

Define it. Build it. Review it.

What we can deliver together.

The final deliverables depend on your product and the scope we agree.

An agreed integration contract

Endpoints, example payloads, authentication rules, validation messages and environment requirements. Gaps are identified before they become assumptions in the interface.

Readable data and state handling

API services and models separated from presentation code, with consistent loading, empty and error states across the agreed screens.

Recovery your users understand

Session-expiry handling, retry behaviour and clear feedback for uncertain outcomes. Where needed, we define caching and sync rules with the backend team.

A decision worth making early

Decide what a retry is allowed to do.

Reading a list again is different from submitting a reservation twice. For actions that change data, the app and server need an agreed way to handle duplicate requests and uncertain results. I review those cases with your backend developer rather than assuming every failed request is safe to repeat.

Offline support also needs a product decision: which information can be stored, what can be edited and whose change wins after reconnection? If the app only needs read-only access to recent data, we can keep the approach simpler than a fully editable offline system.

Good engineering, made visible

A difficult moment.
A clear next step.

A connection problem should not leave your customer wondering whether their request was received. Explore how a considered app handles three everyday interruptions.

A useful recovery flow keeps the customer informed, respects account access and checks an uncertain result before repeating an action.

and next steps.

01Can you connect an existing backend to a Flutter app?

Yes. I review the API documentation, authentication and current app architecture, then agree the flows to integrate. Access to a test environment helps us check real responses and failure cases before release.

02Does this include building the backend?

The service focuses on the Flutter integration. Backend changes, API development and infrastructure need to be agreed separately. I can document what the app needs and coordinate implementation details with your backend developer.

03Can you fix unreliable API calls in an existing app?

Yes. Start with reproducible examples, affected screens and any safe diagnostic information. I investigate whether the issue comes from app state, request handling, session behaviour or the API contract, then propose a focused fix and checks.
